Dr. Brooks Mendell is President at Forisk, where he leads the firm’s research program. Dr. Mendell has over twenty years of operating, research, and consulting experience in forest business, bioenergy and finance. A Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Mendell publishes analysis of timber markets, forest business and operations, and wood bioenergy. Dr. Mendell earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at M.I.T., an MBA at the University of California at Berkeley, and a PhD in Forest Finance from the University of Georgia.
Amanda Lang is a Partner and, as COO and VP of Client Services, leads all of Forisk’s operating, project management and FRQ Subscriber Support activities. She leads Forisk’s forest industry capital investment research program and is the Product Manager for Forisk’s North American Mill Capacity Database. She also teaches workshops and delivers presentations related to tracking and evaluating wood bioenergy markets and forest industry capacity. Ms. Lang received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Forest Resources from the University of Georgia.
Dr. Shawn Baker is the Vice President of Research at Forisk and manages the Forisk Research Quarterly (FRQ). In this role, Shawn leads Forisk’s entire research portfolio in addition to continuing his forest operations research in the US and Canada. He also supports delivered wood cost projections for the Forisk Research Quarterly (FRQ) and for custom timber market studies. An award-winning researcher and frequent presenter at forest industry conferences, Shawn earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in forestry from Virginia Tech and a PhD from the University of Georgia.
Dr. Tyler Reeves is a Consulting Project Manager with Forisk, and he is also the Product Manager of the Forisk Market Bulletin. In these roles, Tyler tracks and maintains datasets related to timberland ownership and transactions, supports Forisk’s research of forest management and carbon, and assists clients with timber market assessments and analyses. He has an undergraduate degree in Biology from Georgia Southern University, and an M.S., MFR and Ph.D. in Forest Resources from the University of Georgia.
Stephen Wright is a Forest Industry Analyst at Forisk, and he also serves as the Product Manager of the Forisk Wood Fiber Review (WFR). In these roles, Stephen helps manage the collection and analysis of wood fiber pricing, and he supports Forisk’s research of wood bioenergy markets/projects and pulp/paper industry investments. Prior to joining Forisk, Stephen worked as a Sustainability Forester for Drax Biomass in Mississippi and Louisiana. Stephen earned Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Forestry from the University of Georgia.
Pat Jolley is a Forest Industry Analyst and Consultant with Forisk. In this role, Pat tracks and maintains datasets related to capacity and capital investments in wood-using mills, supports Forisk’s research of forest products markets and forest management, and assists clients with timber market assessments and analyses. Pat has two decades of forest industry experience in the U.S. South and Lake States. Prior to joining Forisk, he worked as a regional manager in Arkansas and inventory analyst in Georgia for Larson & McGowin. He has a B.S. in Forest Management from North Carolina State University and an MFR from the University of Georgia.
